Annual Oilmen’s Bonspiel Concludes

Every PGA Masters weekend the Oilpatch gathers in Grande Prairie….No, not watch the masters but to partake in the GP Petroleum Association’s annual Oilmen’s Bonspiel.

If you enjoyed the Masters you certainly would have enjoyed the Bonspiel. We…Sure….Did!!!

This years edition of the GPPA oilmen’s Curling Bonspiel was the 36th Annual.

Like every year the Grande Prairie Curling Club hosts the GPPA as well so does the Crystal Centre for the Banquet and celebrations night.

The bonspiel was short 4 teams of the desired goal of 56, but none the less the event provided a lot of laughs and some very good curling.

108 Sponsors provided the much needed support allowing the GPPA executive to put the various functions on within the bonspiel, as well as provided the prizes to the various winners of events and give away prizes.

204 Curlers competed in 6 events starting on Wednesday the 9th and carried through to the Finals which wrapped up on Saturday the 12th of April.

The organizers of the event would like to ensure our sponsors support was much appreciated and we did our very best to ensure they were recognized at all of the functions.

We would also like to thank all of the Volunteers for the many hours they spent preparing and putting in the hours during the Bonspiel

Results of the events are as follows.

A Event Winner – Total Enerflex

B Event Winner – Shell

C Event Winner – Nalco Champion

D Event Winner – URS Flint

E Event Winner – Bonnetts

F Event Winner – Tervita #2

We thanks all that participated and we look forward to seeing you all next year as we present the 37th annual GPPA Oilmens’s Bonspiel once again Masters weekend
